Hello! My name is Rebecca Phoenix and I am a mother of 5…but I wasn’t always that way!
Our family came together later in life. I had a 15 year old, and he had a 14, 13, and 11 year old. Then…baby made 5!
The mixing process was long and full of anguish. That’s not even being dramatic. It was the roughest 2 years I’ve ever spent, things that happened could easily make a movie for Lifetime TV.
Finally, the anguish was over. We were free to design our lives! So we set about creating. We got a huge apartment with an indoor pool, plenty of bonuses, right in Seattle. The kids loved it. But I hated it! I was making all the choices that had already brought my life to its end once (mental breakdown and divorce.)
I didn’t want to go through that again. But with Brian away full time for work, me running a business and homeschooling, and the kids always needing something we headed down hill fast.
Until one day we were hit with what others may call tragedy. Brian lost his job!
We didn’t call it tragedy! We called it deliverance. We had a vague idea that we would travel in an RV when most of the kids were older. But this fast forwarded that plan.
We got the notice January 7th, and were on the road by January 21st!
It was the easiest move day ever. It took 30 minutes to fill the rv with everything we would need.
We headed out in full excitement. It hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows, but I still say it’s the best decision we’ve ever made!
This blog will document our adventures and aim to show our readers how thinking outside the box could lead you to the happiness you thought you could only achieve “later”.
